Great Places to Visit

Virginia is one of only a few states that can take you from the mountains to the beaches. The Richmond Metro Region has many wonderful places to see and visit, especially with all the American History in our city and a lot more with thin a short drive which makes Richmond a great central location for everywhere you want to be. You can visit many attractions and museums right here in Richmond as well as old battlefields and plantations. An hour's drive will bring you to Monticello and 90 minutes away you can find yourself in Jamestown, Williamsburg or Yorktown. Two hours away can bring you to the beautiful beaches or to the Nation's Capital in Washington, DC. I want to share some of the better places that I have personally been to and enjoyed and often recommend to my customers. If your time is limited, these recommendations you won't want to miss. More places of interest may be added at a later time, so please visit again soon and feel free to let us know if there is a great place we should add soon.

Statue of JEB Stuart on Monument Avenue in Richmond,VA

Monument Avenue

This beautiful avenue is lined with heroes of the Confederacy and moves forward into the 20th century.  "Monument Avenue Historic District" is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and may be the only street in America that is a national landmark. There are six different statues including Arthur Ashe. Very controversial at the time of unveiling; the Ashe Monument demonstrates Richmond's progression of Civil Rights from the days of slavery. Gentleman Taxi offers "City Tours in Progress" that will stroll you along Monument Ave. and many other places of interest. Please call for details. The tour is a wonderful experience on your way to the airport. More photos and information about Monument Ave. can be seen at www.monumenthouse.com/richmond
