Good Places to Eat
The Richmond Metro Area has many great choices when it comes to food. I have taken this opportunity to share some of the best places that I have personally been to and often recommend to my customers. More places will continue to be added, so please visit again soon. Gentleman Taxi receives no compensation from the restaurants listed and these are listed as recommendations for our customers and community. Know an exceptional restaurant that should be listed here? Please let us know.
A great hole in the wall we like to call down home southern cooking! You can have some lip smacking Pork BBQ, Chicken or Beef Brisket with a variety of sauces. The smell pulling into this place just a few miles East near the airport will get your taste-buds roaring before you ever reach the parking lot. The homemade sides are absolutely de-lic-ous like collards, yams and baked apples. The sweet cornbread is... well, come see. Perhaps you'd like some chili while you visit and you'll see many to go orders on their way out the door from their "regulars"! Summer hours are 10am - 8:30pm Sun. - Wed. and 10am - 9pm Thurs. - Sat. They sell smoked dog bones too and my dog gives it the "paw of approval"! Y'all come back now, ya hear!

Anthony & George's would get my vote for Best Steakhouse in Richmond as well as seafood, pasta and a full bar. The food is always FRESH and they cut their steaks themselves. You can tell the difference in the quality of the meat and the cook will prepare your food to perfection. The service is always the best and the coconut creme pie will melt in your mouth! Breakfast is available on the weekend. Prices are a good deal and your plate will be running over or you can get it to go. Check out their new website and tell them Tom from Gentleman Taxi sent you.

La Palmera Restaurant
804-330-9234
La Palmera is Richmond's only Latin American restaurant that features fine Puerto Rican cuisine. The word has spread with diners driving from as far as Washington to Charlottesville. La Palmera has been recognized by several culinary arts magazines, but still remains one of Richmond's best kept secrets. One of their many known favorites includes Mofongo, a green plantain confection. Serving breakfast, lunch and diner with hours 9:00am to 7:30pm from Mon. to Sat. and opening an hour earlier at 8:00am on Sat. Sun. hours are 3:00pm to 7:00pm.

The Tobacco Company has been a long time favorite landmark for many years by local Richmonders and also regarded as a must do when visiting Richmond. Business and casual attire is recommended at this fine dining establishment. The restaurant has a fine selection of steak and seafood as well as house specialties. Many folks enjoy the fine cigars being sold by the beautiful cigar girls. The club downstairs is a favorite spot on the weekends for dancing with a "happy hour" starting at 8pm sometimes with lines of people waiting to get in. Visit their website above to see their menus and learn more.
Ruchee is open 7 days a week with a lunch buffet every day and what a great way to learn the "taste" of India! The restaurant's chefs bring a flair of Fusion food as well as Northern and Southern Indian Cuisine. They have a wide selection of choices on their menu. If there is a dish you would like that is not on the menu, just ask. They will be happy to prepare it fresh for you and many dishes can be prepared mild, spicy or very hot. Lunch is served from 11:30am to 2:30pm, Mon. till Fri. and 11:30am to 3:00pm on Sat. and Sun. Dinner is served daily from 5:30pm to 10:00pm.
